Our last night on Tavewa culminated in some traditional Fijian culture with dancing and fire shows! Ooooooooo!!!
Note Dougie the little boy, who's Dad is next to him - aka Crazy Bill (they all have English versions of their names here!), Dougie is learning the traditional dances to pass on to the next generation (apparently!)
Oo oo, it's like a heart!
Special thank you's to Catherine and also to Alex's work colleagues for our 2 nights here! Fabulous! :)
Our final stop in Paradise was Blue Lagoon resort, which really was Paradise! Huge thank you's to Jane & Brian, and John & Margaret for our 2 nights here... everything was just perfect from the accommodation, the powder soft sand, delicious food, beautiful sunsets, starry skies and fabulous fishes in the azure ocean... ahhhhhhhhhhh perfect!
Staff singing the welcome song as we arrive
Our fabulous Villa
With fancy towels and flowers and everything! Switswooo!
Perfect :)
And Alex was super happy, as he got out on a canoe...!
All in all... a fabulous ending to our Fijian adventure... shame we had to leave :(
The ferry journey back to the mainland was somewhat eventful... with a strong South Easterly wind, the catamaran had a rather lumpy ride... sick bags were being passed round left, right and centre... thankfully we'd bagsied some forward facing seats and with eyes set on the horizon, the roller coaster ride for 5 hours actually passed quicker than I'd have thought with oooooooo's and woooooo's and wooooohhhhhh's at each crash of the waves, and each leap into the air the boat took! Not for the faint hearted! I think the German lady next to me was saying her final prayers every time we lurched into the air again! Anyway, we're safe and sound back in Nadi now awaiting our flight to New Zealand tomorrow morning...
Alex tells me that this is it now, the honeymoon is over, and the 'travelling' begins (I guess at least I managed to get nearly 4 weeks of honeymoon in... prior to leaving the UK it was "1 week of honeymoon and 15 weeks of travelling"!). As I sit here in our room looking around me, I am certain that his words are true, the honeymoon is definitely over...
...at least there is free wifi I guess ;)
Much love to one and all x x x
Glad to see Alex has found a canoe. Pity it wasn't one carved out of a tree trunk. You'll have to update your transport log, as canoe still reads zero!
