We spent last night at the All Blacks vs France game in Auckland, which was a good warm up for the Lions match (I mean for me getting used to all this rugby lark... "Allez les bleus"... hmmm, not sure that's going to cut it, didn't go down very well last night either!)
Giant hand! Good try though ;)
So, that was fun. Then we drove to the Coromandel Peninsula, where we are for a couple of nights... thank you to Nick, Rachel, Thomas & Emily, and also to Simon for our stay here :) We were very pleased to arrive at our accommodation after the long windy drive in yet another bargain basement hire car! (on a side note, funny story, this morning after visiting supermarket, we spent about 5 minutes trying to get into our car wondering why the key didn't work... to realise we were actually trying to get into someone else car... whoops!)
So yes, we woke up to some rain, but in true British form we headed out anyway, and after lunch it brightened up a little. Our adventure took us to Cathedral Cove the other side of the peninsula... which had been recommended by a few people, and the handy 'Dad weather and tide information service' had advised the best time to go! ( Thanks Dad! x )
Here's me looking decidedly gnome like...
Yes, it's chilly. We loved Cathedral cove. I'd forgotten how much I love the fern trees here! They're so green and luscious!
I also had an opportunity to play with my new camera and it's fancy shutter speed settings... ooooo...
