"You say potato..."

It's been a busy last week... I finished work on Friday. Woo hoo! No more work until September!!! I'm not sure how I'll cope...

I unsuccessfully tried breaking in my wedding shoes, resulting in a very sore big toe. Luckily I don't think people are going to be looking at my feet on the big day so won't notice my rather gross scabby big toe. Do you think anyone would notice if I wore my slippers instead? Hannah (bridesmaid) suggested an old wives tale...

...hopefully a.) they won't sprout in the meantime, and b.) I won't smell of potatoes on my wedding day.

I've found that I've been mostly calm these last few days... I offloaded my wedding brain onto poor Becca who will be my wedding fairy on the day - making sure everything is just as it should be. Becca's the most organised person I know, and she is THE label making queen.

My trusty wedding notebook is well thumbed and coming to end of it's days... how I will miss these lists upon lists (Maddy you will be proud) of seemingly inconsequential things...

The boys suits arrived this week also! Somehow minus Alex's shirt which is a bit of a mystery. Austin Reed tell us that we specifically requested not to have a shirt for Alex, hmmmm... shame that Alex nor I remember this rather strange request. Another one of those wedding mysteries sent to try us I suppose!

Did I mention Alex has a gazillion Ushers?!
Boots has been helping no end as you can imagine, particularly enjoying the packing and unpacking...

...but we did mangage to squeeze in some quality time together yesterday... happy days! x

Here's a sneak preview of my glamorous Granny Margaret and Grandpa Gordon (Mum's parents), we've collected together all our parents and grandparents wedding photos to have on display at the wedding... isn't she beautiful?! And check out Grandpa's top hat!

Our Grannies are going to be sat with us on the 'top table' as a surprise... shhhhhhh!!! x

Last orders at the bar...

So Alex was in charge of the Costco run last week to stock the rest of the bar...

...you're all in for a real treat!!!!

Mangetout mangetout

So the Hen Party... where do I start? The huge 'surprise' that we were going to Paris? My new hodgepodge collection of knickers I ended up wearing on my head? The inflatable doll with an uncanny resemblance of Alex? The rather large, incomprehensibly heavy lollipop willy? The massive hangover my Bridesmaids made me endure...???

Well, sorry to disappoint you all, but what goes on tour stays on tour as they say ;) All you need to know, is what a fabulous cluck of hens we were. My Bridesmaids did me proud, and it was a fabulous send off into the world of Marriage! Thank you to all who contributed to make the weekend so special - especially my chums in foreign lands x x x

My hubby to be.. I'm so lucky...

The Thing of Nightmares...

Yesterday's RSVP (ahem... only 2 weeks late. Tut tut.), came in comedy form from my Bridesmaid Hannah and her Husband Ed - our Best Man. As a teacher, I'm sure Hannah will appreciate my grading her handywork:

Art skillz: A
Presentation: F
Comedy value: A

Exhibit A

As you can see, 'Exhibit A' has a headless bride. Hopefully this is not a sign of things to come, although who knows what this weekend's hen do will bring. Thankfully, being a creative sort, I had Prittstick to hand... and all was well as you can see... (although it did take me some time given that I was doubled up in hysterics!!!)

Looks like we'll have to watch the Best Man on the big day... sneaky champers stealer!

Busy bunnies...

We've been busy bunnies this Easter... Alex has been measured for his very smart bespoke waistcoat from Piccadilly's finest... ooh la la!

Boots has been helping with the table runners... well, hindering, is more like it. And I even managed to get Alex roped into this activity - expertly ironed hems everyone. Note to self however, (and anyone else planning a wedding), all those pretty pictures you see of things on wedding blogs and think "that looks easy, I can do that"... yeah, it takes ten times as long as you think it will, and gets rather monotonous after the first... uh... two of them?!!! Needless to say after a day couped up inside chained to the sewing machine... a well deserved red wine at the local beckoned. Well, if I must ;)

...and if that's not enough for one bunny, I've created a few more pretty things for the big day too... it's all in the detail don't cha know ;) That, or I'm hopping mad... you decide!
The ring pillow for Thomas to carry on the right... so cute!
